The short version

Files you process with our tools are stored in an isolated temporary area and permanently deleted within 30 minutes — automatically, every time. We don't create accounts, so we can't build a profile on you. This page explains the details.

Files you process with our tools

Some tools run entirely in your browser (your file never leaves your device). Others that need server-side processing — like exact-size compression or PDF structure edits — upload your file to an isolated temporary store. In that case:

• The file is processed immediately and written to a private temp area.
• The temp area is swept continuously; every file is permanently deleted within 30 minutes of upload, whether or not you download the result.
• We do not open, read, or analyse your files beyond the processing the tool performs.
• We do not share, sell, or use your files for training anything.

Each tool's page states whether it runs in-browser or server-side. When in doubt, assume server-side with the 30-minute guarantee above.

Information we collect

Server logs

Like most websites, our server records basic request logs (IP address, requested URL, browser type, timestamp) for security and debugging. Logs are kept for a short, rolling period and are not used to profile you.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we store what you submit (name, email if given, topic, message) so we can read and act on it. It is used only for that conversation.

Cookies and advertising

We use no functional cookies of our own — no login, no preference cookies. Third-party advertising partners (including Google) may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads:

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings, and manage many vendor choices at aboutads.info/choices.
• Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and use cookies subject to their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (for example, your contact-form message or email address). Email hello@exactfile.tools and we will honour these requests — since we store so little, fulfilling them is quick. Processed files are already auto-deleted within 30 minutes, so there is nothing to delete there.

Children

This site is a general-audience utility; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, the "Last updated" date above changes with it. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
